The 21st ASEAN Labour Ministers Conference achieved great success

In the afternoon of May 25th , 2010, in Hanoi, Minister of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan chaired the press conference to announce the outcome achieved at the 21st ASEAN Labour Ministers Conference

According to Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, the above-mentioned conferences and the Labour Ministers Conference ASEAN +3 taking place in Hanoi from 24th  to May 25th, 2010 achieved great success.
With the core theme "Developing human resources for economic recovery and development", delegates concentrated on discussing the aspects of human resource management, skills development, development of information on labour market, improvement of labour management ... At this conference, Vietnam has launched initiatives to protect the lawful rights and interests of migrant workers on the basis of the ASEAN Charter and the law of each country.
  The 21st ASEAN Labour Ministers Conference adopted:
- The Action Program of the ASEAN Labour Ministers between 2010 - 2015 includes 21 phases and will be incorporated into specific plans of each member country. Each country will then build a legal foundation for implementation on the basis of ensuring national sovereignty and the ASEAN Charter;
- The Guide to healthy labour relations in ASEAN; the Joint Declaration of the 21st  Labour Ministers Conference
- The conference also agreed to support Vietnam's proposal on construction of the ASEAN joint Declaration on "Human resources and vocational skills for economic recovery and development."
The Labour Ministers Conference ASEAN + 3 taking place in the afternoon of May 24th, 2010 evaluated the cooperation effectiveness, discussion and made cooperation plans for the next phase in the fields of human resource development, labour - employment and social security among the ASEAN countries and partner countries. China, Japan and South Korea affirmed their continuous cooperation with the ASEAN countries in the development of human resources, vocational training and safety employment nets.
The 2nd  ASEAN Human Resources Conference which was held on May 25th, 2010 emphasized the importance of taking medium and long - term measures to improve the quality of the workforce through  the strengthening of quality education and training. The ASEAN countries proposed solutions to build a skilled labour force to meet the needs of labour market. According to  Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, the Labour Ministers of the ASEAN countries agreed that the issues of vocational quality, vocational skills are important and it is necessary to focus on improving skills towards a common , ASEANlabor market that means labourers of one country can go to other country for working in accordance with a joint "standard".
